Regarded by some as the most beautiful car ever created, this is without doubt one of the most iconic cars built by Ferrari in their long and rich history. It is also one of the most valuable, an example sold for a record ?9 million euros at auction in Maranello in 2009. At 1:8 the model is approximately 60 cms (24 inches) long. Creating the master model took around 4,000 hours of work by a small team of highly skilled modelmakers. Each individual model then took around 350 hours more to finish and build. The model is very deeply detailed and shows the engine bay, chassis, drive train, suspension and the cockpit, all in extremely fine and accurate detail. Amalgam have gone to great lengths to model the exact chassis and drive-train used on chassis 0704 when it was raced in the Florida sun and then on to victory in the dark at Sebring on March 22nd 1958. Each model in the edition of 99 pieces has a signed certificate of authentication and a unique edition numbered plate on the base.
